about

The title of the album is derived from this piece, which was born from some freeform play/practice I was doing not the mridangam one day. The rhythmic structure of the main theme of the piece came from this and I developed it further. This kind of inspiration from the hands, and the connection between spoken rhythm and played rhythm in mridangam performance, inspired the title. Lots of Carnatic present on this one, with various moras, a simple yet effective korvai, and the raga Hamsanadam.

Features a wonderful mridangam solo by Sri Trichy Sankaran
