about

The asymmetric 11-beat tala (rhythmic cycle) of the piece invokes a feeling of balance/imbalance, and the image of a stumbling tight rope walker came to mind. While most of the piece can be perceived in 11/8 (2+2+2+2+3), the solos sections reflect the same structure but expanded to 16+16+16+16+24, then 8+8+8+8+12, then 4+4+4+4+6 and finally 2+2+2+2+3. :-)
